تعد الثروة المعدنية هي أحد الدعامات الأساسية التي ترتكز عليها دول العالم في تطوير صناعاتها وتنمية اقتصادها، ويجب أن تكون عمليات استغلال هذه الثروات  مبنية على أسس علمية ومدروسة وفق مجموعة من الإجراءات والتدابير اللازمة لتنشيط عمليات البحث والاستكشاف عن هذه الخامات، واستخدام أفضل الطرق لاستخراجها واستغلالها بطريقة اقتصادية . ومن هنا يتضح دور البعثات الجيولوجية والتعدينية فى القيام بالدراسات والأبحاث الجيولوجية والتعدينية اللازمة لتحديد وتقييم موارد الثروة المعدنية بالدولة المصرية وطرق استغلالها بما يتمشى مع أهداف الدولة لتنمية الدخل القومى، وبما يخدم أغراض النهضة الصناعية بالدولة . يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة تقارير البعثات الجيولوجية والتعدينية  فى الفترة من 1956 م إلى 1966 م دراسة دبلوماتية, وتعد تقارير تلك البعثات نوعية جديدة من الوثائق توثق لنا نشاط وأعمال البعثات الجيولوجية والتعدينية  فى تلك الفترة , وهى سلسلة فرعية من المتكاملة الأرشيفية لوزارة الصناعة المحفوظة بدار الوثائق القومية, و اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوثائقى تحليلًا و تركيبًا. وتركز الدراسة على محورين الأول: تناول تعريف البعثات الجيولوجية والتعدينية والعوامل التى ساعدت على زيادة نشاط البعثات فى تلك الفترة, وأنواع البعثات وكيفية تكوينها وأعمالها, وإلقاء الضوء على المساهمات الأجنبية فى مجال الأبحاث والتعدينية, وتعريف أنواع تقارير تلك البعثات، وطرق تدوينها، وأهمية التقارير كمصدر للمعلومات . المحور الثانى: تطبيق عناصر النقد الدبلوماتى الحديث على تقارير الدراسة من حيث: الحدث والسياق ( المصدر – القانونى والإدارى – الإجرائى – التوثيقى ) والرابطة الأرشيفية, والشكل الوثائقى (العناصر الخارجية والداخلية) .
Mineral wealth is one of the main pillars on which the countries of the world rely in developing their industries and their economies. The operations for the exploitation of these minerals must be based on a scientific and measured basis in accordance with a set of measures and measures necessary to stimulate the search for and exploration of these minerals and the use of the best means of extracting and exploiting them in an economic manner .Hence the role of geological and mining missions in carrying out the geological and mining studies and research needed to identify and evaluate the mineral resources of the Egyptian State and their exploitation methods in line with the State's objectives of developing national income and serving the purposes of the country's industrial revival. The aim of this research is to study the reports of geological and mining missions in the period from 1956 to 1966 AD a diplomatic study, and the reports of these missions are a new type of document documenting the activity and work of geological and mining missions in that period, which is a subseries of the Archive Group of the Ministry of Industry stored at the National Archive, and the study relied on the documentary method of analysis and synthesis The study focuses on two main areas: the definition of geological and mining missions, factors that helped to increase mission activity during that period, the types of missions and how they were formed and conducted; the highlighting of foreign contributions in the field of research and mining; and the definition of types of mission reports, methods of recording them and the importance of reports as a source of information. The second axis is the application of the elements of modern diplomatic criticism to the study reports in terms of event, context( provenance , administrative- juridical, procedural, and documentary context), archival bond , and documentary form extrinsic and intrinsic elements .
