 بذل الفنان المصري القديم جهدًا كبيرًا في تصوير الحيوانات والطيور وتشكيل نقوشها وما يجيش بوجدانها، وأضفى عليها السمات الواقعية والراقية، وجعل الناظر إليها تفيض مشاعره وتتحرك أحاسيسه، إذ حرص على إبراز مكنونها النفسي فنطق تصويرها على الصخر والحجر،  ومما هو معلوم أن المكنون النفسي كالحب والحنان والخوف والتضحية والفداء هي أمور خفية تجيش بها الأنفس ولا تدركها الأبصار أو تلمسها الجوارح، ولكن يُترجم بها أفعال وشواهد وقرائن نابعة من هذا المكنون فتُظهر خفي هذه المشاعر الجياشة، وقد صور الفنان مكنونات الحيوانات النفسية في كثير من المناظر، والمكنونات النفسية منها السَوِيُّ ومنها غير السَوِيِّ، فتحمل الأولى بين طياتها الرحمة والعطف والحب والحنان، والفداء والتضحية وتجسيد الخوف من شيء ما،  وهي العناصر التي يتناولها موضوع البحث، أما الأخرى فتحمل بين طياتها القسوة والعنف، كالبغض والكره والذي يتجسد وصوره الفنان في تناطح الحيوانات وتصارعها، بل أقسى من ذلك وأشد جفاء في ظاهرة الافتراس، وهو ما يحتاج إلى نقطة بحثية منفردة.
 The ancient Egyptian artist exerted great effort in depicting animals and birds, shaping their engravings, and adding realistic and refined features to them The viewer would be moved by their portrayal, as the artist emphasized their hidden psychological depths, expressing them on rock and stone It is known that these psychological depths include love, tenderness, fear, sacrifice, and devotion hidden emotions that stir within souls, unseen by the eyes or felt by the senses Rather, they are translated through actions stemming from this inner realm, revealing intense emotions The artist conveyed the psychological depths of animals in many scenes, both benevolent and malevolent The former embody mercy, compassion, love, tenderness, sacrifice, and the fear of something, all of which are the focus of this research The latter, however, carry cruelty and violence, such as hatred and animosity, depicted by the artist in the animals' confrontations and struggles, even more so in the phenomenon of predation, which requires a separate research point
